Import Sports Ltd., operating as Import Sports Management ("ISM," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and store it, and the rights you have under Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec's Law 25 where applicable.

Information You Provide Directly

When you fill out a contact form, request a callback, sign up for advisory services, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect:

  • Birth year (used for age-bracket eligibility, not stored as a precise date of birth unless you provide it)
  • Role (player, parent or guardian, coach, organization, media, other)

When you visit importsports.ca, we and our service providers automatically collect:

  • IP address, approximate location (city or region), and device or browser type
  • Pages viewed, time on page, referring URLs, and clickstream activity

Information for Clients Under Representation

If you become a client, we may also collect personal information needed to perform our services, including government identification, banking information for direct deposits, contract documents, performance and game data, medical or insurance information you choose to share, and information about family members involved in advising arrangements. This information is collected only with your consent or as required to deliver the services you engage us for.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We collect and process personal information based on your consent (provided when you submit a form or engage us), the necessity of performing a contract you have entered into with us, and our legitimate business interests in operating, securing, and improving our services. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual obligations, by contacting info@importsports.ca.

5. COOKIES AND ANALYTICS

This site uses Google Analytics (Google Tag ID: G-3W98Y8H7NX) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies that may collect anonymized usage data, IP address (truncated where supported), and event interactions. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, blocking third-party cookies in your browser, or using private or incognito browsing.

Form submissions on this site are processed through Netlify Forms, which stores submission contents and basic metadata to deliver the message to us and to filter spam.

6. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We share personal information only with parties that help us deliver our services, and only to the extent necessary. These may include:

  • Hosting, email, and form-handling providers (such as Netlify and our email host)

  • Leagues, teams, scouts, and front offices when negotiating on a client's behalf

7. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Some of our service providers store data outside of Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. By submitting information through this site, you consent to the cross-border transfer and processing of that information, subject to the protections of this Policy and applicable law.

8. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, and to enforce our agreements. Inquiry records that do not lead to representation are typically deleted or anonymized within 24 months. Client records are retained for the duration of representation plus the period required by professional, tax, and legal obligations.

9. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

We use commercially reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and vetted service providers, to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you and the appropriate regulator as required by law.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information

11. CHILDREN AND MINORS

Hockey representation often involves players under the age of 18. We collect personal information about minors only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe we have collected information from a minor without proper consent, contact us and we will delete it.

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services or legal obligations change. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the site or by email where appropriate.
